Born and raised in Argentina, Freddi was kicking a football before he could walk. He played high-level in South America, went semi-pro in Australia, and now calls Auckland home where he is pouring his energy into coaching the next generation.
With an AFC Coaching Licence and a Diploma in Sport & Neuroscience, Freddi’s coaching philosophy is all about nurturing creativity and confidence on and off the pitch. He designs focused sessions that grow technical ability while encouraging critical thinking and smart decision-making. He’s committed to creating a positive, challenging environment where every player can develop into a confident, capable, and well-rounded athlete.
ERIK DANQUAH
Coach
Erik has been involved in football from a young age, playing for local clubs in Italy where he grew up. His talent led to being scouted by Hellas Verona, where he was part of their professional academy from 2004 to 2009. Unfortunately, ongoing injuries in his final year altered his playing pathway. Erik returned to his local club for a further four seasons, but continued injury setbacks eventually led him to step away from playing in 2016.
After moving to New Zealand, Erik transitioned into coaching, beginning his journey with Forrest Hill Milford, where he earned all NRF Junior coaching badges. Since joining Birkenhead United in 2020, he has continued to develop as a coach, completing NZF Youth Level 1, Youth Level 2, and the OFC C Licence. Erik brings strong technical knowledge, professional experience, and a passion for developing young players to his coaching role.
SAM MCINTOSH
Coach
Sam McIntosh is a Kiwi footballer who came up through Birkenhead United and West Coast Rangers, playing first team for both clubs before moving to Takapuna AFC. He’s coached at Birkenhead and West Coast Rangers, where he learned how to work with players of all levels and help them build confidence, skills, and smarter decision-making on the pitch. Sam brings a positive, down-to-earth approach to the game and loves helping players grow.

CHARLEY MUELLER
Coach
Charley began his football journey in Germany at the age of five, joining his local club where he developed a strong passion for the game. At eight, he moved to New Zealand and continued his development with Hibiscus Coast before later playing for Northern Rovers. He progressed through the New Zealand youth pathway, eventually advancing to men’s first team football.
As a coach, Charley’s philosophy centres on empowering players to express themselves confidently and positively on the pitch. He is committed to creating an encouraging environment where players can grow, learn, and enjoy the game. Charley aims to share his playing experience through supportive guidance and constructive feedback, helping each player reach their potential.
